New Scam Alert | Hawkins County Sheriff's Office
The Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office has been advised of a new scam. Apparently, the call is a recorded message that states that the electric company has overcharged you and wants to issue you a credit. At the end of the recording, they ask you to press 1 to be connected to a person. Please be aware that this IS NOT the electric company and they ARE NOT issuing credits. If you receive a call like this please hang up. As always, never give callers personal information or send anyone money. If you do not know the number, we recommend you do not answer the call.
